Facilitated by:
Greg Simmons and Jeff Church, Learning Technology Services

Are you looking for ways to engage all of your students, especially in large classes? Imagine polling your students in order to assess their opinions/ biases related to a given topic. Imagine asking questions during the course of your lecture and having those questions graded and the results instantly displayed (as a histogram, bar graph, pie chart, etc.). Classroom Response Systems (sometimes referred to as Student Response Systems or “Clickers”) can do both these things and more. In this workshop, participants will learn how these systems capture and engage student’s attention, promote discussion, and encourage participation.

Jeff Church taught in Department of Technology for seven years. Greg Simmons joined Appalachian in 1986, as an instructor of music theory and technology at the Miriam Cannon Hayes School of Music. Both are consultants for Learning Technology Services, and help faculty integrate technology into teaching and learning.
